Our Philosophy

Truthfulness, Determination & Excel

I was born in Lebanon in a village which stretched Politicians, Diplomats, Humanitarians, Physicians, Engineers, Intellectuals and much others – and most of them were well known in our community and even in International Lobbies. My parents maintained we live with dignity, respect and wellbeing. They taught me and my two other brothers to say always the truth and nothing but the truth!

Back in the 1960s the socio-political circumstances were promising – as Lebanon was still living the Golden Ages; and was named that time “The Swiss of the Orient”. Unfortunately, in the 1970s Lebanon lived a Civil War that changed the demographics and social structure of the Lebanese community.

01

Our Philosophy

In my adult age, my dreams were at a stride; determination was to achieve higher degrees of education and be a proactive person in my society too. Yet fortunately, I had to travel with my elder brother to Canada; and there I achieved my Master Mariner degree at “L’Institut Maritime du Québec (IMQ)” – and was placed on the Distinguished List several times.

My dreams at pace! As a fresh graduate my venture started on Commercial Vessels; I had the opportunity to visit several countries at different coasts of the trading sea routes. With much growing experiences, I surpassed my Marine Expertise at one of the biggest and luxurious Yacht in the World – M/Y Lady Moura.

From success to success in the Yacht Industry; I always wished to excel in my Country – a market which had promising prospects in the Maritime field.

05

The Dream

Inauguration of Brainmar

In 2001, I established my own company in Lebanon specialized in Yacht Services. We offered door-to-door facilities to Luxurious Yachts of all sizes. Our products and services were extended to the Gulf Markets – at which we offered Marine Services and Repairs, Charterparty Contracts, Classification Society Registrations, Insurance & Brokerage, Dry-docking, Shipchandling Services, Consultancy, and much more.

Un Resolution 1701

In 12 July 2006, our office was appointed to support the UN humanitarian aids at several logistics hubs. We provided evacuation support at several ports and marinas, airport and even it was extended via the Lebanese land borders via Syria. Our office also provided evacuation services for Embassies and expatriates living in Lebanon.

With the resolution 1701 several foreign contingents joined the UNIFIL in Lebanon to provide Humanitarian Aids especially in Naqoura – South of Lebanon. These contingents also joined the Maritime Task Force (German, Brazilian, Bangladeshi, Indonesian, Greek, Italian, Turk, Spanish and French Contingents) to control Marine Traffic and prevent the importation of weapons to Lebanon.

The Dream

Brainmar at the Core of the UN-MTF Operations

From that time BRAINMAR realized the pace of work that is required from the UN, the UNIFIL-MTF, the NATO, the foreign contingents, the Lebanese Armed Forces, the socio-political parties, the diplomatic missions, the European Commission prospects and other Foreign Relation Parties that were involved in the Lebanese Socio-Political well-being.

It was according to this domestic and international platform that our Logistics & Supply Chain Portfolio was developed.
It is at that core of extensive military platform that BRAINMAR has ventured to bridging the gap within the “foreign decisions” to be executed at “the complexed domestic groundwork”.

The Business Evolution

Truthfulness, Determination & Excel
In order to stay ahead of the rapid changes in the Lebanese Maritime Front; small-businesses like BRAINMAR had to evolve. An opportunity at the horizon existed, we knew the market, we had the associates, we had the knowledge and expertise, we had the team and tools; it was time to excel!

With a clear vision we were preparing the logistic platform in a revolutionary way though the encountered struggles and the piles of red tapes from the bureaucratic system in our community. Our business portfolio was sketched from day one with determination and with a view to achieve at any cost sustainable growth.

We analyzed the market offerings and potential, we assessed the logistic needs, we promoted through our second to none services our business efficiency and effectiveness; and from success to success we started our investments in prospective logistic fields. Regardless of the competition and challenges, our precision and truthfulness in business allowed us to aim to expand our logistics offering – we crossed the red sea to the Indian Ocean (from Egypt, to Saudi Arabia, to Djibouti, to Oman, to Pakistan, to India, to Sri Lanka, to Indonesia) and with much ahead we stretched our logistic services at Logistics Gates in Cyprus, Turkey, Spain, Germany up until Brazil and USA.

Moreover, we were awarded an International contract for Marine contract from Indonesia to, South Korea, China, Japan, Russia and Philippines. Moreover, with growing customer demands for specialized maritime services and equipment we had to establish foreign contacts with manufacturers all over the world – this included business alliances and joint ventures with Maritime Agents, Logistic Bodies, Shipchandlers, suppliers, manufacturers, and much more of partnered business associates.

In the personal defense market, we further had to hold a share. We procured around 80TEUs for Fence Protection at Beirut Port for most of the UN Ships; we imported Armored Cars from STOOF-Germany for the German Contingents in Lebanon – with a view to extend this service portfolio into the Middle East Markets.

Overall, the service logistic chain remains extending. For us at BRAINMAR the future beholds other challenges and requirements to meet. We are keen to accept new experiences. We are structured to communicate any of the clients’ need via our skills and consolidated knowledge – both within and outside the box. We bear always in mind the three principles of work and we will further strengthen our ability to provide unrivalled logistic services.

As a company co-founder and CEO, I am personally determined to promote BRAINMAR as a sustained company in the most ideal business ethical way, while continuing to cherish our corporate philosophy of Truthfulness, Determination and Excel!

Recent Ventures Oil & Gas

brainmar appointed As ship Agent for the Drill Ship TUNGSTEN EXPLORER

The Daily Star
BEIRUT: Drilling the first exploration well in Lebanon’s offshore Block 4 is planned to start in December 2019 and Block 9 in December 2020, according to a report by French oil and gas company Total.

In April, Energy Minister Nada Boustani had announced the site in Block 4 where the first drilling would take place in Lebanon’s bid to discover offshore oil and gas resources in its territories.

The site sits just north of Beirut.

“A mobile offshore drilling unit will be mobilized to Block 4 and the exploration well(s) will be drilled vertically in [an] area ... where depths range from 1,450 meters to 1,760 meters,” Total’s report said.

The target gas reservoir’s drilling operations will be supported by a logistics base in Beirut Port.

Block 4 will see the drilling of one exploration well, and possibly a second one. A potential appraisal well will also be drilled, “depending upon the results of the previous exploration wells,” the report said.

Block 9’s target gas reservoir, whose drilling is set to start December 2020, will have one exploration well drilled and potentially one appraisal well.

A consortium of Total, Italian Eni and Russian Novatek will handle the exploration of Lebanon’s potential offshore oil and gas reserves for blocks 4 and 9.

Last month, Cabinet approved the second licensing round for exploration, with the opening of blocks 1, 2, 5, 8 and 10 for tenders.

Blocks 1 and 2 are along Lebanon’s northern border with Syria, which is disputed by the two countries. Blocks 8 and 10 lie along Lebanon’s southern border, which is disputed by Israel. About 856 square kilometers of disputed maritime territory lie in Block 8, the largest disputed area.

Parts of Block 9 also run through what Israel claims is its Exclusive Economic Zone. However, Lebanon says the maritime map it submitted to the United Nations is in line with a set of armistice agreements signed in 1949 following the Arab-Israeli War.
